Get Office-Ready in the Morning – Even if you Work from Home
I know what you are thinking – “I work from home so why do I need to get ready as if I am going to the office?” Well, being in your comfort zone by wearing your sweatpants all day wouldn’t help you create the productivity you need to work for lesser hours and produce more. And if you look good, you feel good. Plus, when you feel good, you do good. So, get up and get ready even if you are at home.
Eat Healthy in the Morning & Eat the same every day
Before you judge the second part of the subheading, hear me out. The best thing about having the same thing for your breakfast every day is that it becomes a routine. It gives you one less decision to make in the day. And being the CEO of your business means that you need enough energy to make decisions for your business. With this, you will have all the energy you need for your business.
Try out different things initially and see which is the best. Or you can also prepare a list of things for each day. Like on Monday you can have oats, on Tuesday – pancakes, and so on. Just ensure that what you eat makes you happy and not tired.
Be Conscious of the Information you are consuming in the Morning
If you are a person who reads or hears the news in the morning, then you need to stop it. It has a very negative impact on our moods. To be clear, the news is usually filled with messages of hatred, violence, and fear. You do not want to work like that, do you? In fact, if you want to watch something while having breakfast, then watch funny videos on YouTube or a cartoon. Anything that can give you the motivation you need.
Do at least 5 minutes of Meditation/Stretching in the Morning
It is normal for us to feel lazy and tired every morning. Mostly due to the way we sleep. For instance, I sleep on my arm at night. This leaves me feeling tight near my neck and upper back. With a little stretching and meditation, you not only would make yourself healthy but feel free of the night cramps.
Have a Calendar or To-Do List Ready to Go
When you can sit down and see exactly what needs to be accomplished, you don’t spend precious time in decision mode trying to determine what is worth spending your time on right now. The less time you can spend in decision mode, and the more time you will be spending in the action mode. And with this, you will end up being more productive.
This can be very simple. All you need to do is create a piece of paper with all your priorities listed on it. Put them in the ascending order and begin with the most prioritized work in the morning.
Get in Tune with your Body’s Needs & Wants
Even though you might feel that there is no need for this, it is important that you follow it. Find out how much time you need to sleep and what time do you need to go to bed. Find out things about you like – are you a night owl, do you like the sun and so on. This will help you get in tune with your body and like this, you will be able to get the best out of your time awake.
